In 1970 the Council of Six prayerfully ventured out to meet our fellowship's need to obtain a campground that would be under the ownership of the Nebraska Association of Regular Baptist Church's. After much time of searching the committee found some land that was available near Genoa, NE located 2 miles north of Highway 22. The land was purchased, and the final signatures were placed on the documents in October of 1971. Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska started its journey on May 1, 2008 when five former Girl Scout councils across the state joined forces to become one. We are now the largest girl serving organization in Nebraska with more than 24,000 girl and adult members and a geographic region that spans nearly 77,300 square miles (counting water).

We have eight service centers throughout the state and 21 membership areas with a membership specialist in each, serving the needs of our girls and our adult volunteers. We own and operate six camp properties which are utilized year ‘round for Girl Scout programs, troop or group camping and, in some cases, as rental properties for the public to enjoy.
Girl Scouts do amazing things. Our programs offer a wide array of activities that encourage girls to discover their full potential and to have fun at the same time.
